Erin Carere is an award-winning screenwriter, actress, singer + author. 

Born ‘n raised on the banks of the Mississippi in small-town Minnesota, she attended the University of MN-TC (B.A. in English Literature, Magna Cum Laude) + Manhattan School of Music. 

Erin toured the US/Europe as a singer-songwriter before being signed to a music label + moving to Los Angeles. There, she quickly earned her SAG + AEA cards alongside ASCAP membership while she garnered critical praise for her spinout records album, POET’S LOVELY DAUGHTER. 


After her music career stalled, she began writing + performing one-woman shows about hilarious things like eating disorders + terrible relationships. 

Her one-woman show, THE ONE, toured the US; another one-woman show, STANDUPERA, premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Notable acting roles include the lead in the Emmy-award-winning ALABAMA SNAKE on HBO, a stint with the Pulitzer-prize nominated TAYLOR MAC’S 24-DECADE HISTORY OF POPULAR MUSIC, + a much-watched episode of SEX SENT ME TO THE E.R. 


In college, Erin wrote plays + one-woman shows that became cult hits + festival winners; once in Los Angeles, she began screenwriting. 

She partnered in this endeavor with her husband Carlo. Together they’ve written multiple award-winning, optioned and/or produced TV pilots + feature screenplays. 

Their pilot SPY V SPIA premiered as an Official Selection at the Oscar- BAFTA and Canadian Film Awards-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival where it screened alongside projects featuring Jessica Chastain, Vincent D’Onofrio and others.  It has gone on to win Best TV Pilot (Studio City Film Festival, Buenos Aires International FilmFestival), Best Acting (Austin Comedy Film Festival), Best Actress (HEX After Dark Film Festival), Best Web Series (Love & Hope International Film Festival), Best Director (Wallachia Film Festival), Best Short (Sherwood Players International Film Festival), Best Cinematography + Best Rom Com and more; it's an Official Selection in 20 Fests as of October, 2022 including: LA Independent Film Festival, Chelsea Film Festival, LA Femme Film Festival, Hex After Dark Film Festival, Studio City Film Festival, Austin Comedy Film Festival, Portland Comedy Film Festival, New Zealand Web Festival and more.

Short film NEAR DEATH won or placed in multiple film festivals before being licensed to Tubi, Roku Channel, Xumo, Typhoon, Plex and more, totaling 13 streamers or channels. 

Their television pilot DARK HORIZONS/ REVERSE won 11 screenwriting contests + placed in over 40 others, including Final Draft Big Break, Sun Valley Film Festival + more. In August, 2023, they signed a shopping agreement with Citizen Skull Productions for the project as both a feature film and television series.


Feature script TIME ZERO won or placed at the Atlanta Film Festival, the Nashville Film Festival + more before being optioned by award-winning filmmaker Damon Jamal and In Yo FACE Filmworks. It brought on Executive Producer Jumaane N'Naamdi, and went into production March of 2024, with principal filming wrapping March 20th! The film stars Elizabeth Rodriguez and Eric Roberts.

As a fiction writer, Erin’s novel GHOSTING SHAKESPEARE was a Semi-Finalist (in the TOP 8) for the LeapFrog Press Fiction Prize and named an Official Selection at the Catalyst Content Festival. In her spare time, Erin studies Italian, collects four leaf clovers, and aspires to grow into a Fairy Godmother/ Auntie Mame for her nieces and nephews.
